Yes, 1934 is correct. Some of my graduating classmates were: James
and John Pittman (twins and lawyers), John Covington (banker), Dan
Gore, Thomas Hamer, Rosalie Polk (Valedictorian), Frank McDonald,
Mabel Yates (my first cousin and sister of Hazel Yates of Goodman's
store).
There were 67 graduates in all--Howard Stogner was a classmate but
chose not to graduate so he could play football another season; later he
played at Wake Forest College as Center. I was only fourteen years old
at the time--now middle aged, rather middle eighties.
Stancil Campbell is a nephew; so is William T Campbell, retired State
Highway Engineer. They are sons of Daniel and Evelyn Campbell. Allison
Richardson (who starred as a football player and is now deceased) and
his brother Carl, are nephews, also.
I enjoy looking at the items on your web site. Let me know if you would
like more information that I can provide. I enjoy writing, perhaps too
much.
